Student Practice Groups
Student Practice Groups are open to those wishing to improve their mediation skills and connect with other like-minded mediation students dedicated to practice, improvement and excellence. Students must have completed mediation training. Practice Group fees are structured to ensure all students can participate. Contact us for more info - increasing mediator competency is a passion of ours!
2022 - what a year! We had the opportunity to try some new approaches in our Practice Group and welcomed some new members! We spent the last few months with a unique mentoring opportunity for students to work on a case from the intake call all the way to the closure of a file, including all SDM topics. As we get started with our new role plays in January, we will take some time to review the mentored session experience and determine when we can offer that again.
February 2022 - It has been an incredibly engaging year so far! It has been amazing to watch the competence and confidence of our student practitioners increase as they take on more role play opportunities and more complex scenarios.
December 2021 - It has been an absolute privilege to get to work with those of you who attend these sessions! We have covered a vast array of topics this first year and I have already seen the integration of concepts and skills happening for you. The new schedule for 2022 is now available and we will start by spending time on areas we do not often get to practice and are still so important to our work.
We wish you all the best as you wrap up 2021 and look forward to learning and growing with you in 2022!
June 21 - We continued our conversation about emotions and moved to looking at the connection between emotions and interests as well as our own self-management. The schedule has been adjusted as per your feedback about weekend sessions and summer months - we will have 2 weekday sessions in July and take a break for August to allow all of us to maximize summer fun!
