The Resolution Group, a partnership of three ethically guided Chartered Mediators in Edmonton, offers supportive, confidential and client-focused mediation. We work in collaboration with other professionals to ensure our clients have an effective process for conflict resolution and have access to all resources in order to make informed decisions and lasting agreements.

Rachel McDonald
|
Rachel is a Chartered Mediator and trainer in conflict resolution and has facilitated over 800 mediations, primarily in the areas of family (separation and divorce; parent-teen), workplace and business partnerships. Rachel's extensive experience in mediation includes her work as the Parent-Teen Mediation Program Coordinator for Catholic Social Services and as a Family Mediator with Alberta Justice Resolution Services. Rachel is the co-founder of an Edmonton Mediator Ethics group focused on building ethical practice and a co-author and instructor of the 9-day, 3-module course in Separation and Divorce for the ADR Institute of Alberta.
Rachel draws on her experience in working in a variety of social service and family intervention areas, her BA (Psychology/Sociology) and her training in interest-based and transformative mediation to support parties to be their own agents of change and determine their own outcomes. She is a passionate mediator who believes in her clients’ abilities and self-determination while ensuring she offers a process that is respectful, focused and efficient (in both time and cost). |
Judith Lake

Judith is a Chartered Mediator providing mediation and conflict resolution training in the Edmonton area. Judith has been mediating and training for 20 years in the areas of separation and divorce, workplace, provincial court civil claims and restorative justice.
Judith worked as a family mediator with Alberta Justice Resolution Services for eight years. She was their liaison with Community Initiatives Against Family Violence and has extensive education and experience working with clients experiencing high conflict and family violence. Prior to that, Judith worked with the Mediation and Restorative Justice Centre for nine years, starting as a volunteer mediator with the Victim/Offender Mediation Program before becoming a Co-chair and then Executive Director of the Centre. Before moving into mediation, Judith spent ten years in the Human Resource field, including grievance administration, giving her a strong foundation for her workplace mediation and conflict resolution training. Judith is a co-author and instructor of the 9-day, 3-module course in Separation & Divorce Mediation for the ADR Institute of Alberta. She is a lecturer and coach with the University of Alberta's Business Faculty and a member of the Provincial Court Civil Mediation Program roster. Judith has worked with thousands of clients and her kind, gentle, down-to-earth approach has helped them get through difficult conversations and make lasting, well-suited agreements, tailor-made to their situations. |
Tammy Borowiecki

As an ADR practitioner and consultant, Tammy provides mediation services in the Edmonton area for workplace, organizations and families. She also works with individuals and groups to facilitate decision making and conflict management. She is active on the BBB Mediation Roster, Civil Court Mediation Roster, instructs for the ADR Institute of Alberta (ADRIA), and provides conflict management training in the workplace. Currently, Tammy is also involved as the Director of Professional Development for the ADR Institute of Alberta (ADRIA).
Prior to entering the world of conflict management, Tammy was involved in marketing, advertising, media buying, consumer behavior analysis, and project management. She also brings diverse experience from her work with corporate and commercial enterprises, small and family businesses, tech start-ups, property management, non-profits, and multi-cultural societies. ADR philosophy: I am a firm believer that the qualities of effective communication and clear conflict resolution skills can have far-reaching benefits not only financially for businesses but also in personal fulfillment and success. I use an Interest-based mediation model to help individuals gain understanding and insights supporting them to resolve their issues. |
